We at Bizios Architect are devoted to creating value for our clients through personalized, high-caliber design services. Our designs originate from a unique and engaging process that results in a holistic understanding of each client’s needs and wants. This customized perspective is then carried to the project site, where issues of landscape, neighborhood, views, solar orientation, sustainability and energy efficiency are brought together in a creative, value-focused design process.
The strength of Bizios Architect lies in our approach. We directly and personally engage clients and collaborators. Through our process, the simple acts of listening, learning and discussion provide insight into the unique aspects of each new project. Sketching, drawing and all types of modeling, including 1-to-1 scale mockups, expand design ideas into built reality.
Our 25-year history includes an eclectic mix of projects, from small to large homes and places of worship and from new construction and additions to small renovations that breathe life into older spaces. Georgia Bizios, FAIA, and Brian Grant, AIA, coordinate every project providing flexible, accessible and personalized assistance to clients embarking on the rewarding journey of designing, building, renovating or expanding their built world.

“Bizios Architects designed our cabin on the Haw River outside of Chapel Hill, NC. She has won numerous design awards for our house design. Our house has also been featured recently in Back to the Cabin by Dale Mulfinger. Georgia Bizios and her staff were a joy to work with and we are extremely pleased with the final product. She consulted with us on all aspects of the cabin’s design, adding many great ideas and features. She helped us find a builder and worked closely with the builder to make sure the cabin was constructed to her specifications. The cabin has a warm, cozy feel and exceeded all of our expectations. We highly recommend Bizios Architects.”
“My sister and I hired Georgia Bizios to design one home for the two of us at the coast. The covenants would not allow us to build a duplex, so we needed a home with common areas but that also provided us with private spaces and some separation. Working with Georgia on our home was such a positive experience, both the process and the final result. Georgia asked us to fill out a questionnaire so she could learn who we are, how we live our lives, and what we needed and wanted in a house. Her questions made us think about things we never would have considered or known to ask ourselves. She encouraged us to take our time and not rush this part of the process, and she was right. Her process really helped us figure out what we wanted. When Georgia presented her initial designs to us it was obvious that she had thoroughly studied our responses. She “nailed” it so well initially, that although she was open to changes, we had very few. Georgia captured the feel of the house that we were looking for. As we requested, she brought the outside in, and beautifully framed the gorgeous views our lot provided. Our home functions very well for us and how we live our lives. She had great suggestions and ideas. Another thing we like about her is she likes to use stock materials in creative ways. Our home is stunning. We get compliments on it all the time. Best of all, we love it, and love spending time there. It fits who we are. I highly recommend Georgia and her firm. They are top notch. She is a wonderful designer, with a great personality, and easy to work with. If you hire her and her firm, you will be pleased with your results.”
“We hired Bizios Architect to design our house and we were very happy with the whole process. The firm started by helping us clarify what we wanted and then made suggestions on how to achieve this. Gerogia Bizios and her team designed a house achieving our objectives within our budget and worked well with the contractor to make sure these were realized. In addition, we had a strange lot and they sited the house perfectly!”
